Cathedral Provincial Park This 33,000-hectare (82,000 acre) wilderness area in the Okanagan mountain range borders Washington and contains rock formations with names like Stone City, Devil's Woodpile and Smokey the Bear, as well as the turqoise Cathedral Lakes. Watch for mule deer, mountain goat and California bighorn sheep. Camping, hiking trails, picnic area, angling are all popular activities. Cathedral Lakes Lodge is also located here. Keremeos Columns Provincial Park Named after a group of six basalt columns that formed over 30 million years ago and are fused together to make a steep cliff, Keremeo Columns Provincial Park is located in the Similkameen Valley. The columns are not located in the park but does offer viewpoints. It takes upwards of three hours hiking ot reach the viewpoints. Contact BC Parks for directions (1-866-433-7272). The Grist Mill and Gardens This area boasts a restored grist mill from the 19th century. There are also 11 campsites with water and electrical hookups. The gardens hosts a number of events throughout the year including a Farmer's Market on Sundays from 9am - 1pm, and a brunch from 10am - 2pm. Admission fees: $7 Adult, $6 Senior, $5 Youth, $3 Child.
