Welcome to Naramata!
The scenic town of Naramata is a picturesque 20-minute drive northeast of Penticton, British Columbia in the Thompson Okanagan area. Serene and peaceful, Naramata is a warm and welcoming place to visit anytime of the year. The town was founded by John Moore Robinson in 1907 and it became a prime agricultural area. Robinson named the town “Naramata” after Naramattah who was the wife of Sioux Indian, Chief Big Moose. The name means “smile of the Manitou.” Robinson also founded the nearby towns of Peachland and Summerland. Today, Naramata is known for their numerous wineries and is an ideal place to stay during the Okanagan Spring Wine Festival or the Okanagan Fall Wine Festival. Many scenic parks are located throughout the small town such as the Naramata Wharf Park, a scenic waterfront area for relaxing and walking. The Labyrinth is a unique park in the shape of a large circle and is an ideal spot for those looking for a quiet place to walk and meditate. Naramata Village is the town's downtown area offering shopping and dining opportunities. It is also where visitors will find some of Naramata's historic landmarks.Hotels & Motels
