Welcome to Peachland!

A picturesque town surrounded by vineyards, orchards and Ponderosa pines, Peachland, British Columbia is famous for being the hometown of Ogopogo. Described by eyewitnesses as being a 40 to 50 ft-long sea serpent or lake monster, Ogopogo makes his home in Okanagan Lake. Since the 19th century, Ogopogo has been spotted by First Nations people and even more sightings have been reported since then by locals and visitors alike. No one knows for sure if Ogopogo really exists or not, but it does make for an exciting visit to Okanagan Lake for the chance to see if this illustrious creature is for real.

Aside from lake monsters, Peachland is also known for its ample fruit production. Located in the Thompson Okanagan area, the town is also home to many wineries, parks and gardens. Peachland is located 25 km (16 mi)south of Kelowna and has a semi-arid desert climate and receives a generous amount of sunshine throughout the year. A popular Peachland pastime is heading out to the local beaches where one can relax, swim or enjoy some watersports. Walking along the waterfront Peachland Promenade is also a fun activity for the whole family. Another popular place to visit is Pincushion Mountain Park. Visitors here will have the opportunity to hike their way up Pincushion Mountain. For those wanting a more leisurely outing, Hardy Falls offers scenic views for all ages to enjoy. History buffs will enjoy a day at the Peachland Museum featuring an array of historical artifacts and exhibits.
